KANSAS CITY, Associated Press -- A 22-year-old Kansas City man has been charged in the death of a former schoolmate almost four years ago.
Byron Case was charged Monday with first-degree murder and armed criminal action in the death of 18-year-old Anastasia WitbolsFeugen of Independence, Mo.
The University of Missouri-Kansas City student was found shot to death in October 1997 in Lincoln Cemetery, between Kansas City and Independence.
Authorities said Case was the boyfriend of one of WitbolsFeugen's acquaintances. That acquaintance called police last September, leading to the murder charge. According to court documents, the acquaintance told authorities she saw Case shoot WitbolsFeugen.
